We're back!

We're back from Düsseldorf and more excited than ever to move! We had all our questions answered and met the people involved locally in Youth Compass. Everyone we met was wonderful and it will be a perfect fit for our family. We saw the house we will live in and where the youth will meet.
We also were told the monthly support we need to raise went down to about $2400. It would cost a lot more than $2400 for us to live in Europe but the local board in Düsseldorf raises a substantial amount as well. To break it down, it would take about 48 people to give $50 a month to reach our goal. We've been meeting with people already and are having great responses. So thank you to those who've met with us and for all those who have been praying for us.
Youth Compass has put us on an accelerated program and they would like to see us there by the end of March in order to attend their annual service project called Project Compassion. This means we are trying to meet with as many people as possible. We've been going into people's homes and telling them more personally about the opportunity. We also are meeting with families and small groups. We'd love to meet with everyone we can.
The students Youth Compass works with move all over the world and there are challenges involved in that transient lifestyle. We are excited for the opportunity to sit down and talk about life's big questions in a safe place where students can be themselves. We hope to be a steady presence in their ever changing world and  build deep and loving relationships with them.
Pray for us as we are meeting with families. Megan has a meeting with her MOPS group this week. We are trying to contact everyone we can. If you'd like to hear more about it, let us know!

On Our Way

We are off to a good start on our journey. The first step is fundraising and we have been running around like mad. The information on this blog may be slow in coming because we are so busy and because we want to tell as many people as we can what we are doing in person. If you would like to hear more please get a hold of us; we would love to get together and talk.

Third Culture Kids

The ministry that we are going to be a part of focuses on Third Culture Kids. These are kids who spend significant amounts of time during their childhood outside of their home country. In today's global world this is a large and growing people group that is essentially unreached. Check out the book Third Culture Kids.

Opportunity

Our family has an awesome new opportunity ahead of us. We are all very excited about it and it fits us extremely well. Over the next few months we hope to talk to many people about what we will be doing and why we are so excited about it.
